Some of Fowey’s charm is its quaint, narrow streets – built well before the combustion engine! You’ll find that it’s far easier and more convenient to park as indicated and not to drive through the town.
Fowey’s Main Car Park, at the top of the town, is closest to the Festival Village.
There are two car parks at, or near to, Caffa Mill which is by the ferry slip to Bodinnick - an easy, level walk to the town events.
The Beach Car Park, close to Readymoney Cove provides an alternative for day-long parking.
Polruan has a large car park at the top of the village.
Bodinnick has very limited parking.
From 10.00hrs through to 20.00hrs, the Town Mini-Bus service runs a circular service linking the Festival Village with Fowey town centre, returning via Caffa Mill, Fowey Docks to the Main Car Park. NB National Bus Passes are accepted on this service At the end of the evenings, from 22.00hrs to 23.00hrs , a Free Mini-bus service is provided by Fowey Town Council for the benefit of those attending the evening performances – and enjoying the Skinners’ Bar after the show!
NB The car park to the rear of Caffa Mill (by Fowey Library) is owned by Fowey Harbour Commissioners . Tickets are not interchangeable with any Council Car Parks
Cornwall Council Car Parks - Long Stay parking charges are on Cornwall Council website and the Car Park Tariff boards
The charges in May will be :
Daytime from 09:00 hrs to 18:00hrs £1.10 up to 1 hour; £2.40 for 1 to 2 hours, £3.60for 2 to 3 hours; £4.00 for 3 to 4 hours; £5.30 per daytime session
Evening from 1800 hrs – 09:00hrs £2.10 per entry (can be bought at same time as a day charge ticket).
Cornwall Council Weekly Rover Car Parking tickets are available in two flavours -Every-Day (7days) £35.00 or Week-Day (Mon-Fri) £25.00 and can be used at any Long Stay, Cornwall Council Car Parks throughout Cornwall . In Fowey these are; the’Main’, ’Readymoney’ and ’Caffa Mill’ Car Parks. Either of the Weekly Rover tickets can be purchased in advance, phone (01726) 223365 and pay over the phone or request a form to be sent to you by post and pay by cheque. The form is also available Online.Click here. Weekly tickets at £35.00 are available from Fowey Tourist Information Centre. (in person only , in cash and know your Car Registration number ! ) but that is not confirmed as yet (23rd March).
Disabled parking - Blue Badge Holders must pay the car park charges as above and can use the Disabled parking bays available. There is parking for disabled people in the Main Car Park.
Parking is only Free for those people in receipt of mobility allowance , with the Vehicle Licence / Tax Disc over-stamped ‘Disabled’ and with a Blue Badge & Parking Clockclearly displayed in the vehicle windscreen .
