Description
Widely regarded as one of the most creative musicians of his generation Julian Lloyd Webber won a scholarship to the Royal College of Music when he was sixteen and completed his studies in Geneva
with the renowned French cellist, Pierre Fournier. He is still probably best known for his iconic performance of the theme of The South Bank Show.
Tonight, Julian will reminisce on his many collaborations with musicians as diverse as Yehudi Menuhin, Joaquin Rodrigo, jazz greats Cleo Laine and Stephane Grappelli, as well as Elton John and, of course, Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Julian will perform favourite classics, accompanied by Pam Chowan on piano, including Bach, Fauré, Saint-Saéns and Debussy, as well as by his father William and brother Andrew. Enjoy this unique opportunity to spend an intimate evening with one of the world’s most respected musicians.
Julian plays the ‘Barjansky’ Stradivarius cello (c. 1690).
